I signed up for Hugo because I knew that it would be an epic road race and I wanted to do the race with my teammate Darcy. Plus, I did sign on with a racing team, and despite my age and gender, that’s what I love to do. Since I am a Masters racer, I have to pay the same amount of money as the other (mostly male) racers, but the prize money, if there is any, is not  nearly as much as other categories.
